MOORPARK, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2026) – With half of the men's basketball Western State Conference (WSC) season completed, the Raiders are currently second in the league standings with a 5-1 mark after winning their last four straight.

Most recently, MC took down LA Pierce, 92-72, on the road and prior to that defeated Oxnard (80-55), Allan Hancock (68-65) and Cuesta (92-68).

On Tuesday at Pierce, the Raiders led 38-32 at halftime before outscoring the Brahmas 54-40 in the second half to secure the win. Eric Kubel led the way with 21 points, seven rebounds, a block and an assist while Roman Finney added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win. Jozef Zlocha went 2-for-2 at the free-throw line and totaled nine points. Overall, 13 players contributed to the offense in the game. Defensively, 12 players had a rebound led by Jake Field with eight and Josh Castaniero and Parsa Kamali with six apiece. Castaniero added two blocks and a steal.

Against Oxnard, Field led the way for MC with 17 points while Finney scored 11 and Castaniero posted 10 with a game-high seven assists. Dominique Brutus grabbed 10 rebounds and Kubel snagged a trio of steals to lead all players.

At Allan Hancock, in a tight one-possession win, Finney dropped a career-high 32 points on a night he shot 63.2 percent from the floor (12-for-19) and 8-for-10 at the free-throw line. He has scored double figures 10 times and in each of the last four contests. Additionally, he led the team with seven rebounds in the win.

In a big win over Cuesta, four players scored 10 or more including Brutus (20), Finney (12), Kubel (10) and Jacob Jordan (10). Brutus added 12 rebounds for a double-double, his third of the season. Castaniero finished that contest with eight assists.

Additionally, MC defeated Santa Barbara (81-67) in the first round of action and fell only to Ventura (84-76).

Moorpark (14-8, 5-1 WSC) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when the Raiders travel north to Santa Barbara for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off inside Robertson Gym.
