Raiders Rewind: Oct. 16-22 Brings Fantastic Play
MC battles on fields of play
MOORPARK, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2025) – As October is in its downswing, the seasons for teams entering Championship runs heats up. The men’s and women’s cross country teams, although not hosting, will be running right here in Moorpark this Friday, Oct. 24. The final weeks of regular season play linger for other sports while winter sports gear up for their respective starts.
The Moorpark Men’s cross country team is scheduled to run at 11:00 a.m. in the Western State Conference (WSC) Championships hosted at Arroyo Vista Park. Leading the way all season for the Raiders have been sophomore Tommy White and freshman Trent Williams who each has an opportunity to finish amongst the top runners in the conference. Steady progress all season from the team has positioned them to compete as a unit and showcase their skills.
The women will line up at 10:00 a.m. for the Western State Conference Championships right here in Moorpark at Arroyo Vista Park on Friday, Oct. 24. The squad is rested and ready to run, paced by sophomore Maya Natarajan who has already made waves this season. The small squad has improved throughout the season and is ready to compete hard for MC.
Football (3-4, 2-2 NNC)
The momentum that Moorpark generated in Santa Barbara earlier this month continued last weekend as MC defeated Allan Hancock 49-23 for its second straight NCC victory of the fall. The Raiders got out to a 21-0 lead and never trailed in the win. The team accumulated 335 yards of total offense while the defensive unit held AHC to 258 total yards.
Aidan Karsh continued firing on all cylinders with a six-touchdown performance on 16-for-30 passing for 308 yards. Jude Hooks remains Moorpark’s top target, hauling in six catches for 116, yards including a 47-yard completion, for four of those touchdowns. Angel Urban was nearly at the century mark with 96 yards on four catches. Karsh also connected with Oliver Ortiz (26 yards) and Ja’Tyrian Moore (9 yards) for the first and last passing TD of the game, respectively. On the ground, Carson Green capped off the scoring for MC with a 13-yard rushing TD late in the third quarter. He carried the ball a team-high six times and Jaxon McKinney finished with 16 yards rushing. Sirawn Evans also turned in a 4-for-5 performance for 56 yards including a 40-yard completion as the quarterback.
Karratti Kala kicked off nine times for 361 yards, averaging 40.1 yards per kick. Conversely, Moore ran back three kickoffs for 81 yards, averaging 27.0 yards per return. Jake O’Leary punted three times for 119 yards and Valentino Lara went 7-for-7 kicking PATs for the Raiders.
Defensively, MC took the ball away three times with interceptions from Luke Peffer, Nolan Story and DJ Richmond, who returned his pick for 24 yards. Eli Hodges recorded a sack for a loss of 10 yards and Kenny Nevitt chipped in with a sack for a loss of four. Shyne Kililikane and Tyler Woods also contributed tackles for losses of 16 and 10 yards, respectively. Kililikane and KK Johnson each recovered a fumble as well. Aurelio Medrano and Teagan Neron totaled seven tackles apiece in the win.
Saturday, Oct. 25, Moorpark will be on the road at Citrus where the Raiders will try to even their overall 2025 record with a third straight win.
Women’s Golf
In the final WSC round of the fall, Moorpark earned its highest finish to date, placing second among seven teams. You can read more about it here. Next up for the Raiders is WSC Championships on Oct. 26-27.
Men’s Soccer (5-5-4, 1-2-1 WSC)
Moorpark went 1-0-1 this week with a 1-0 victory over LA Mission College on Oct. 17 before playing to a 0-0 draw against Santa Barbara yesterday. The Raiders looked to Uzi Diaz for a quick goal, his 10th of the season, in the second minute of play over LA Mission before the defense buckled down and held the host school off the board for the entirety of regulation. Artun Vance turned away both shots on goal to keep the scoresheet clean.
MC is back on the pitch this Friday, Oct. 24 for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff against Allan Hancock at home.
Women’s Soccer (7-5-3, 2-2-3 WSC)
Moorpark played to a draw on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for the second straight game. The Raiders traveled up to Ventura where the teams were evenly match, taking five shots apiece with the respective goalies turning away each one, to play to a scoreless 90-minute 0-0 tie.
Moorpark will be back at home for its next two games, first on Friday, Oct. 24 when the Raiders host Santa Barbara at 1:30 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball (16-7, 6-1 WSC)
Women’s Volleyball remains ranked #13 in the 3C2A Volleyball poll. The Raiders are sitting in second amongst the Western State Conference (WSC) North Division Standings with a 6-1 record, behind only Santa Barbara, whom the Raiders will face at home on Wednesday, Oct. 29 as part of Homecoming week festivities MC knocked out 3-0 sweeps over LA Mission (25-19, 25-9, 25-19) and LA Pierce (25-21, 25-11, 25-20) over the last week.
Against LA Mission, Olivia Campisi put down eight kills with Hailey Byron and Genessa Johnson recording seven kills apiece. Johnson hit at .455 clip with just 11 swings. Daylin Saiki handed out 25 assists and Laila Velu and Sami Nehme each tallied a trio of service aces. Defensively, Callie Stankovich was a wall with two solo blocks and six assists. Byron added six block assists as well. Mia Paculan notched eight digs and Velu finished with seven.

Men’s Wrestling
Moorpark travels to the Meathead Movers Tournament, hosted by Cuesta College, this weekend. The men take to the mat at 9:00 a.m. where competition is expected to be tough with teams from all over the state attending.
Raiders Reminder!
Moorpark College will host Homecoming festivities during the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 1. Throughout the week, women’s soccer welcomes LA Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28 and women’s volleyball hosts Santa Barbara at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Men’s Basketball hosts LA Valley at 2:00 p.m. in its season opener with the football game versus Santa Ana concluding the week with a 6:00 p.m. start on Saturday, Nov. 1.
