Ava Ball wins State 400m Hurdle Title, Aliana Tapia 5th in 10K as Women’s Track season ends at 3C2A State Meet.

MISSION VIEJO, CA - The Raider Women's Track & Field season concluded at the 3C2A State Meet hosted by Saddleback College.
The 4 qualifiers combined for 15 points for a 17th overall state placing.
Sophomore Ava Ball concluded her Raiders career with a state championship performance winning the 400m Hurdles in a school record breaking time of 1:01.05. The old school record was 1:02.9 held by Ball. Ball started the race and made up the lane 5 stagger after the first turn. She was leading in the backstretch going into the last turn. As she came out of the last turn in the lead, Ball started to pull away from the pack. Putting the hammer down, Ball left no doubt as she crossed the finish line with a 10 yard lead.
Sophomore Aliana Tapia automatically qualified for 10,000m after she had an A Standard mark. She finished in 5th place with a personal best time of 39:15.76 which puts her at the 7th spot on MC's all-time 10K list.
Sophomore Amani Hooker was an automatic qualifying in the Javelin. She finished in 8th place with a throw of 114' 9"
Sophomore Jaelyn Lee finished the Discus in 10th place with a throw of 112' 11" to round out the state competitors.
