Strong Showing for Men’s Wrestling at Golden Eagle Tournament
Raiders show promise at Lemoore College Invitational
LEMOORE, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2025) – On Saturday, Sept. 27 the Moorpark College men’s wrestling team travelled to the Golden Eagle Tournament hosted by Lemoore College where the Raiders had some standout performances.
With all of the 3C2A wrestling programs in attendance, it was a great preview of the season ahead. The Raiders showed their potential and produced strong performances in one of the early-season matches. MC placed 11th out of 22 and with the strong 3C2A competition, the possibility of climbing the ranks throughout the season is expected. Bonus-point wins and narrow battles against returning state champions plus multiple student-athletes reaching the podium demonstrated depth and opportunities to improve rankings for the Raiders this fall.
Individually, William Fulgentes wasted no time making a name for himself in his first year of collegiate wrestling. He was named the Tournament Champion after earning pins in both the semifinal and championship match.
Emilio Medina finished fourth. After dropping a one-point decision, to the returning state champion, he fought back in the consolation finals and finished strong. Placing fifth was Miles Kline. He led by 14 points in each of his two losses, which showed the coaching staff top-tier potential. Finally, Nathaniel Dominguez placed seventh after falling 9-8 to the returning state champion in the closing seconds, showing how talented the freshman is.
As a team, there is always room for improvement, but with crucial corrections and adjustments, the team is poised for a great season and will compete well this fall.
Moorpark is back on the mats for its first home contest of the 2025 season on Friday, Oct. 3 when the Raiders host Lemoore
