Trio Advances to 3C2A State Championships
Women’s golf places sixth at 3C2A So Cal Regionals
VENTURA, Calif. (Nov. 10, 2025) –The Moorpark College women's golf team spent two days playing at the 3C2A Southern California Championships at Olivas Golf Course on Nov. 9-10, where Kalia Aparicio, Savannah Fryhoff and Ali Muncy scored low enough to advance to the 3C2A State Championships as individuals.
With a 36-hole total of 157 (+13), Aparicio placed sixth out of 52 golfers. She shaved five strokes off her opening round 81 to shoot a 76 on Monday behind a pair of birdies on Holes 3 and 17. The sophomore shot par on 10 holes as well. Aparicio opened the tournament on Sunday shooting an 81 behind nine par's and a birdie on Hole 18, setting her up for a strong start in the final round of action.
In her first 3C2A So Cal Regional Championships, Fryhoff shot a two-day total of 180 (+36) with rounds of 88 and 92 on Sunday and Monday, respectively, to place 21st. She hit par on seven holes, including the final three (Holes 16-18) on day one to boost momentum into day two. The freshman, continued with four pars on the front nine on Monday with four more on the back nine, coupled with a birdie on lucky Hole 13.
Ali Muncy also had a solid showing with a pair of 91's to total 182 (+38), finishing in 25th place, also earning individual 3C2A State qualification. She shot a 41 through the opening nine with a trio of par's and a birdie on Hole 3. On the back nine on Sunday, she added a second birdie on Hole 10. Monday, she came back to hit par on five holes as well.
Finally, Ricille Casino shot par four times with two birdies, which came on Hole 3 and Hole 17, during her play on Sunday. She shot a 109. Casino followed up with three more on Monday with a 107. Both scores were the final addition to the team total.
Also suiting up for the Blue and White during the tournament were Liliana Morency and Chelcie Small. Both Raiders rallied for her best individual round of the weekend on Monday. Muncy tallied a 120 with par's on Holes 9 and 13 while Small hit a 131.
Moorpark teamed up to shoot a two-day total of 735 with a 369 on the first day and a 366 in the second round of action. The Raiders were 12 strokes away from advancing to 3C2A State Finals. Orange Coast College (638) claimed the So Cal title followed by Mt. SAC (647), College of the Canyons (676), Santa Barbara City College (699) and Allan Hancock (723) to round out the top-six.
The 3C2A State Championships will take place this weekend, Nov. 16-17, at the Alisal River Course in Solvang, Calif. Exact tee times are to be determined.
