The Moorpark College women's basketball team defeated Mt. San Jacinto 72-59 at home Thursday night in the second round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional tournament.
Three Raiders (23-3) scored in double figures, led by Kadyn Mew's 21 points, including 10 (of 13) free throws, and five rebounds. Ashley Orozco was 6 of 10 from the field for 17 points with eight rebounds and seven assist. Julianna Martinez pitched in 11 points and seven rebounds in the win.
Moorpark held Mt. San Jacinto (22-6) to just 35% from the field and just 18% from beyond the arc.
The No. 3-seeded Raiders will now host No. 6 East LA - winners over Ventura - in Raider Pavilion at 7 p.m. on Saturday night in the third round of the regional playoffs.
