Williams, Kratt Win Events as Track & Field Hosts Season Opener
Raiders welcome 2026 campaign
MOORPARK, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2026) – The 2026 men's track & field season opened on Friday and continued on Saturday for the Raiders who hosted the Moorpark Multi and season opener inside of Griffin Stadium.
The decathlon kicked the event off as the freshman pair of JJ Bitner and Andres Uribe tested themselves in 10 events over two days. Bittner placed second with a total of 5045 (as the highest finishing freshman) while Uribe placed seventh with a score of 3666. The top 110m Hurdles time of the decathlon came from Bittner and he went on to place second in five other events including the 100m (11.72), 400m (53.59), shot put (10.86m), discus (30.08m) and high jump (1.71m). Uribe, who ran for the cross country team in the fall, won the 1500m run in 4:47.06. The pair will not compete this particular event again until California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) So Cal Regionals.
Many other great times and distances were recorded for the Raiders in the first competition of the spring. Quion Williams won the high jump by clearing 2.00m and Tyler Kratt was the last man competing in pole vault. He cleared 4.00m. Carter Pease placed fourth with a best pole vault of 3.50m. Also jumping for the Raiders, Malikai Bowens placed third in the triple jump with a best mark of 13.66m while also finishing 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.35m.
Johnny Tampi and Nasir Enilolobo ran both the 60m and 150m. Tampi had respective times of 7.32 and 16.94, to place 12th in a field of 47 men, while Enilolobo recorded times of 7.34 and 17.08. Blake Boucher (17.09) and Andrew Borzone (17.96) each ran the 150m as well. Enilolobo and Boucher placed back-to-back in 18th and 19th in the 150m.
In a time of 35.63, Dominic Perez placed sixth in the men's 300m race. Boucher ran a 36.69 just ahead of teammate John Matassa in 37.04, which were 12th and 13th place finishes, respectively. Borzone clocked a 40.56 in the same event. Additionally, Perez pulled double-duty along with his 300m race to also place seventh in triple jump at 12.39m.
A pair of cross country team members toed the line in two races apiece. Russell Benner ran a 600m in 1:25.62 to place sixth before completing the 1500m in 4:22.58 to finish 10th. Theo Shniderman put up a 600m time of 1:30.24 and placed 8th in the 1500m with a 4:20.60 showing.
The longest race of the day was the 3,000m in which freshman Trent Williams placed second with a time of 8:50.28. Hezekiah Bergara was the next Raiders runner across the line in 9:01.83 for sixth. Sophomore, Christian Brady-Breton (9:05.60) and Angel Garcia (9:20.50) were ninth and tenth, respectively. Isaiah Bergara ran his first collegiate race for MC and finished in 9:36.22.
In the field, Angel Ortega (33.32m), Logan Clarke (31.83m) and Jaxon Potter (24.68) all threw the discus. Clarke also tossed the hammer 35.05m and Potter's best mark was 27.74m. In Shot Put, Clarke's best throw measured 10.08m while Potter measured up t 9.81m and Ortega recorded a 9.72m
Moorpark track and field travel to Riverside Community College for the Early Bird meet on Friday, Feb. 13.
