Three Beach Volleyball Pairs Tabbed All-WSC
Raiders round out spring with awards
MOORPARK, Calif. (May 18, 2026) – At the conclusion of the 2026 Western State Conference (WSC) women's beach volleyball season a trio of pairs was honored with All-WSC recognition.
The No. 1 duo of Alesia Lopez and Natsune Makino earned First Team All-WSC accolades as they guided the Raiders to a second-place WSC finish with a 9-3 record. Lopez and Makino earned WSC Athlete of the Month honors this spring and went on to play into the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) SoCal Regional and State tournaments where they ultimately placed third in California.
Another All-WSC First Team recipient was the Moorpark College No. 2 pair of Eva Velarde and Laila Velu. The duo also advanced to play in 3C2A SoCal Regionals as the No. 22 seed. Finally, garnering conference honors was the pair of Kaylin Currie and Daylin Saiki who earned an All-WSC Second Team nod.
Moorpark (16-8) advanced to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals as a team while two pairs teams played in the 3C2A Pairs SoCal Regionals and State Tournaments.
