Under her leadership, the Regals made five SCIAC Tournament appearances, including three semi-finals and two finals appearances.

Before returning to Moorpark College, Samaniego served at San Diego Mesa College, where she gained extensive experience in athletics administration. In her acceptance of the Athletic Director position, Samaniego shared her enthusiasm for the role:

“Moorpark College has always been a special place for me. It's helped shape me into the person I am today, and I will be forever grateful for my experiences as a student-athlete, women's basketball coach, and adjunct faculty member. I am excited for the opportunity to lead our athletic department and be a resource for our student-athletes in helping them achieve their goals.”

Samaniego also expressed her gratitude to those involved in the hiring process: “I would also like to give a special thank you to President Sokenu, Dean Calfin, and the rest of the hiring committee for trusting in me as the next Athletic Director. We have some of the top coaches and staff in the state, and I’m looking forward to joining such an elite team.”
