After two tough games against SBCC earlier in the week, the Lady Raiders welcomed L.A. Pierce to Moorpark Stadium. Suffering an early loss to Pierce in which the Raiders did not play well at all was all the motivation they needed.
In game1, The Raiders struck early and never looked back as they scored in 4 of the 6 innings played. The final score was 11-1 stopping by run rule in the 6th inning. Faylan Lee and Heaven Silveira showed why they are in the middle of the lineup as they combined for 5 hits and driving in 4 runs. Also scoring 2 runs apiece. Amanda Chatman continues to lead the Lady Raiders at the leadoff position. Not only contributing with two hits of her own but stealing 3 bases and scoring three times. Marti Lewis pitched a complete game holding LA Pierce to only 1 run.
In the second game, it was more of the same. LA Pierce scored one run in the top of the first inning but Raiders anwered back with 2 runs in the bottom half of that inning. At the end of the game it was Moorpark winning 7-1. Marti Lewis started that game and then Karlie Barbato and Sammy Whiteside came in and took over allowing just one hit each. The bats stayed hot in the second game with Taylor Cartwright, Heaven Silveira, Natalie Noriega, and Sammy Whiteside all having multiple hit games.
“It was great to play well at home in front of so many people. It was great to see all the students come out on such a beautiful day. We truly have a great softball complex and it was fun to show off how much we have improved this year today”, said Coach Fox.
