Raiders men’s volleyball team finished their WSC season with a three game sweep of Santa Monica City College Wednesday night at Raider Pavilion. The winning scores were 25-14, 25-19, and 25-15. The WSC-ending sweep of SMC followed a sweep of rival LA Pierce (25-20, 25-21, and 25-17) as well as the state’s #1 team, Long Beach City College. That three-game win streak vaulted Moorpark into the CCCAA playoffs as the WSC’s third place team at 6-4. LBCC defeated SBCC 3-1 and El Camino defeated LA Pierce 3-2. LBCC will enter the playoffs as the WSC’s and State’s #1 team. LBCC’s only two losses of the season both come at the hands of the Raiders. El Camino will be the 2nd place team from the WSC at 7-3.
In the match at Pierce Tyler Peterson had 18 kills for the Raiders, and Tyson Maddox 12. Evan Litchfield had 38 assists, and Dylan Shigekawa 14 digs.
For the CCCAA playoffs, Moropark will travel for the Regional Semifinals on Tuesday, April 17th. The opponent and site will be determined after the completion of Pacific Coast Conference games are played Friday night.
