The Raiders baseball team is is alone in second place in the WSC standings after their 6-3 victory Thursday afternoon over Santa Barbara City College at Moorpark.
Starting pitcher Kevin Brown went six innings giving up one earned run, Michael Coates pitched two scoreless innings, and Zach Mercer came on to record the final two outs and get the save.
Brady Conlan had two hits including a double and an rbi, David Whitaker got a two out rbi hit, and Taylor Kahanowitch had an rbi single.
The win improved the Raiders Western State Conference record to 6-5 and placed them second in the standings three games behind league leading Cuesta (9-2), and one game ahead of Ventura and Santa Barbara (both 5-6). The Raiders will host SBCC in a Saturday afternoon rematch beginning at 1 pm.
